Speak of the Devil

Lochlan walks in and sits in the floor. She idly stares at the fake leg

"Hey." Luna says to Lochlan. Her voice sounds tired.

"Hey. How are you doing?""

"I would be lying to you if I said I was okay. Between what Cole's got going on with Joshua, what you got going on with Mailman, and now what I got going on with my creators being assholes, I don't know how to process everything."

Luna is slumped into the couch. For once, Luna seems unsure about everything.

"Me neither. And just had a talk with Cole about that Joshua guy the other night. Since your a member of the house I think you should also know. He's esenstally an enemy of Cole. Cole asked we dont get in the way on the rare chance joshua shows up but I told him that will not be how I react. I trust that you would agree."

Luna nods and cracks her knuckles. "Hinata and I have already accepted that we're going to fight off threats to the house. And the house includes all those who live here. An enemy of Cole's is an enemy of ours. Same goes for you and Spider"

Lochlan nods, "Good."

"The biggest issue with Joshua is the EMP. As far as I can tell, Joshua is human, so human weaknesses are abound, but the EMP will fuck us up." Luna sighs and opens her laptop in search for a weakpoint.

Hinata reappears on the couch out of breath. "Fucking."

Cole strolls into the living room looking somewhat stressed but very well rested, "Good morning...."

Lochlan waves "Morning"

"Mornign!" Hinata waves

Luna is typing on her computer and doesn't respond.

Cole sighs as he leans against the wall next to the hallway

There's a somewhat rhythmic knock at the door 

Lochlan glances over

"I'm not answering that. Last time someone came to the house at 11pm, it was Mailman." Luna sighs

"Alrighty." Lochlan gets up and goes to the door, "But if it's mailman I'm going to scream." She opens the door.

Hinata scooches over to look over at the door.

A 6'0" foot man is standing at the door with a labcoat with a black undershirt and black dress pants as he grins widely upon seeing Lochlan

Lochlan slams the door shut and quickly locks it. She looks back at the others with a look of fear.

Cole looks over at Lochlan with a raised eyebrow, "What?"

"Well there's no scream thus not Mailman. Thus uh... Cole, you might wanna find a place to hide." Hinata didn't see the person.

Cole shakes his head as his fists seem to clench slighly, "He couldn't be here..."

"Look at your surveillance system Cole." Luna looks over.

Lochlan puts her back to the door in hopes to keep it shut, "Well he hecking is."

There's another rythmic knock with a sense of authority as Cole's face fills with dread, he slips into the hallway

"Right. Just gotta stall Joshua and/or kick his ass so hard that he limps away." Luna nods. Hinata cracks her knuckles.

Lochlan nervously whispers, "Do I just open the door and try to talk him into leaving?"

"You can open the door, but we can talk into him leaving together. Cole's done so much for all three of us, it's our turn to do something for him back," Hinata smiles and takes a deep breath.

"Damn right. It's our turn to protect him." Luna looks determined.

Authoritative knocking

Lochlan takes a deep breath as she unlocks the door and opens it, imeadiately falling into character as she gives him a grin back

Luna and Hinata are still on the couch.

He gives a disappointed grin back as he says with a very fake cheery tone, "Does someone by the name of Cole Ernesh Genesone live here? I need to have a word with him"

"Oh? You're not here about taxes?? Thank god..." Lochlan sighs in releif, "And no I don't know anyone by that name."

"Negative, sir." Luna states without any emotion in her voice.

Hinata is quiet and looking over this person.

Hinata can notice that he is pretty damn muscular, and there's a vaguely gun shaped object in his pocket. He gives a small sigh as he rolls his eyes, "Look if you're lying to me, which i might be able to prove you won't have the greatest time" he taps his GVCF badge with the name "Joshua Martinz"

Lochlan laughs, "I'm sure it's just a misunderstanding whatever it is. I rarely leave this house as it is, I wouldn't know em. Isn't that right?" Lochlan looks over at Luna.

Luna nods and takes the metaphorical baton, "That is correct, erm," Luna squints to read the nametag, "Mr. Martinz. What's the GVCF? The government?"

Joshua nods, "A department of the government, Government containment facility if you wanna be exact" Joshua seems to not be satisfied with their answers, "So if he isn't here you wouldn't mind if i played a noise, would you?"

Lochlan shrugs "I mean. As long as it isn't too loud?"

"I would mind actually. I have very sensitive hearing. I have autism, you know how it is." Luna comments. Hinata is taking deep breaths.

Joshua seems to exhale in annoyance, "Well then i will refrain from playing the noise, though if you do end up spotting that mechanical fuck do let me know" There's suddenly a pink glow coming from the hallway for a second before it quickly disappears, Joshua seems to notice but doesn't say anything

"Mechanical fuck? What are you talking about?" Hinata finally speaks up.

Lochlan glares, "That's a bit unprofessional for someone to say. Espcially coming from the government."

"What exactly is the Governmental Containment Facility?" Luna asks with curiosity clear as day on her face. 

Joshua rolls his eyes, "He's not human, more machine then man honestly" Joshua looks over at Luna, "It's a place where we contain anomalies, like undying mechanical business runners"

Lochlan shrugs, "Well we don't have any mechanical business runners so you best be on your way."

Luna nods in agreement.

Joshua takes a deep breath and exhales, "Well, thank you for your time anyways" Joshua starts briskly walking away

"Good bye!" Hinata gets up and goes to lock the door when he leaves.

Lochlan sighs, "Well that was easy!"

"Yeah. What the hell kind of name is Governmental Containment Facility anyway? It's just begging to be called the Great Value Control Freaks." Luna giggles.

Luna closes her eyes and focuses, "the hell is that? Hinata do you hear that?" Her ears are perked up.

"No? Lu, your hearing is better than mine. I have the weakness without the strength." Hinata sighs.

"Maybe the tax people?" Lochlan shrugs

Nightmare Luna — 02/12/2024 12:13 AM

Luna is trying to focus on what she's hearing, trying to discern what exactly it is and what they're saying.

Luna's eyes turn purple for a couple moments before returning to blue. Luna looks really really nervous and snaps her fingers. A couple swords appear in the living room.

She can't discern much other then, "I saw that fucking mechanical fuckers eyes glowing, i know he's in there" then a response of, "That's not concrete enough for a god damn raid, we aren't knocking down this door without at least something else"

Lochlan looks over at Luna as she stays where shes standing, "Uh... should I be worried?"

"Currently, there are five men outside with tablets contemplating a raid. Apparently Joshua spotted Cole's eyes, but the rest of the men are unsure about it. Claiming it's not enough evidence. Now the other issue is how we're literally surrounded by GVCF freaks." Luna states as calmly as possible.

"And that's why you summoned our weapons?" Hinata asks.

Lochlan whispers, "Why can't Cole just teleport away?"

Luna tilts her head side to side. "Probably because he feels like he needs to protect us still."

Cole peeks his head out of the hallway, "Because i'm the only one who has access to the security system and.....uh....i don't have any other reason other then hearing Joshua get annoyed..."

Lochlan still wispers as she motions at Cole, "Then shoo! Scram! If your not here, he has no reason to be!"

Cole rolls his eyes as he disappears in a cloud of black smoke

"Fruit ninja??? Krystal was huge into that shit." Luna sighs

Lochlan looks confusd "What?"

"Apparently the people with tablets are discussing Fruit Ninja. And now Krystal is seething over her world record being taken." Luna shakes her head.

"Whats the plan here?"

"According to Max, there are a lot more of these freaks than he thought so... we wait for them to strike first. Because we don't know their intentions just yet."

"And since they're opposite of the others, they might be pro-Cole?"

Hinata nods, "correct. Max is unsure who they are."

Lochlan huffs and sits down, "So we're funked. Just wait to lose?"

"Negative. We need more information. And considering Joshua has an EMP gun thing, we definitely need more before striking." Luna sighs.

"Oh yeah cuz we're ganna get information and then strike when theres only two of us and God knows how many of them."

"Then what do you propose Lochlan? We're out of ideas." Hinata shrugs

Luna's ears perk up, "Wait hang on, they're in a similar situation, plus they're worried about getting shot. Because they're in radius. Interesting."

"I propose nothing becuase we can't do anything here. I don't even own a gun. And i wouldn't doubt they have way more weapons. And way more hands for those weapons."

Luna grins and snaps her fingers. A small bag of throwing knives appears in the living room. Luna's voice sounds excited for a change. "Aww man, I've not done this in a while. Be right back."

"So you do have a plan then?"

"In a way. We have a bunch of people bickering about their fruit ninja scores, and people worried about getting shot. We have no guns, but being shot is another word for getting killed. I'mma go murder some ipad kids."

"So not letting them strike first."

Luna sighs in defeat, "yes that was a stupid plan. The biggest issue is Joshua, hence why I was going to suggest I go solo. But I'm not so sure anymore."

Lochlan gets up, "Ill help but I still don't think its the best idea." She draws a pocket knife.

"Then please, give us a better idea Lochlan," Hinata looks over, "cuz right now we are 20 shades of surrounded."

"Like i said already. I don't think there is any good one."

"Lu? What do you think? Do we stay here and hope the other force in the forest is pro-Cole, or do we attempt to assassinate a bunch of ipad kids with throwing knives to the neck?" Hinata looks unsure herself.

"If we do we need to act now, not just talk about it forever"

"Fuck it. Let's protect our house." Luna runs out with some throwing knives equipped onto her belt. Her longsword, one given by Viper is sheathed as well.

Hinata follows right behind with her cherry blossom katana.

"Finally" lochlan follows

There's quite chatter outside between at least 5 people

The chatter seems to only get louder as they start arguing if they should do anything, "WE NEED MORE INFORMATION YOU FUCK", "NO WE DON'T YOU SWINE", "wait wait hold on", "What the fuck am i holding onto", "Didn't we have a deal with CGI to not go near this house or we'd get shot?", "....." 

Luna rushes outside and launches one of her throwing knives at one of the IPaders, intending to hit their neck/carotid artery. Luna is completely silent while doing this, offering no more than a silent exhale.

Hinata goes to stab another one in the back.

Lochlan steps out but waits a second to gether bearings

Standing outside were four guys wearing all black tactical gear, Joshua is standing closest to a blacked out Cadillac. Two of them fall dead as Joshua's face drops as he starts running towards the forest, the remaining guy draws a pistol on Luna and Hinata as he shakes slightly

Lochlan sprints and tries to tackle the guy who draws the pistol

Luna and Hinata both take evasive maneuvers and roll away from the aiming when they see Lochlan tackle.

He gets tackled to the ground as he tries to pistol whip Lochlan in the side of the head, soon after the tackle there's the distinct noise of machine guns opening fire but it doesn't seem to in the direction of the group

Lochlan is hit as she winces and tries to dig her pocket knife into his throat.

Luna and Hinata both rush toward the final enemy to assist Lochlan. They both have their left hands hovering their blades. 

The blade is dug into his throat as he groans and starts choking as he aims a punch at Lochlan's head, the gunfire pauses for a couple seconds then resumes

Lochlan is stunned a moment as she lets go of blade to move her hand to her head.

Luna attempts to stab her longsword into the enemy's throat to finish him off. (edited)

He's stabbed in the throat as he starts violently choking and dying as he drops the gun

Lochlan grabs her knife and rolls off him as she stumbles a bit on getting up. She goes to speak but stops.

Hinata holds a hand out to help Lochlan up, "Thank you for tackling him. You okay?"

Luna smiles towards her and catches her breath.

The gun fire stops and this time doesn't resume almost instantly afterwards

Lochlan is already standing as she shakes her head slightly, "Just going to bruise a bit. Ill be fine."

"Okay, hopefully whoever is shooting out there took care of Joshua. I assume that's CGI." Luna tilts her head.

Hinata nods and grins. "Well that was fun. We haven't had any reason to kill people in a while."

Luna smiles back, "I know right? I miss being Eclipse Blade."

Joshua is no where to be seen

Lochlan glances around, "So Joshua is a scardy cat, got it."

Luna nods. "He talks a big game but when combat happens, he escapes. Joshua is a wuss."

"Right, I don't hear Joshua or the guns anymore. Let's head back in." Hinata walks back inside.

"Yeah I need to clean my sword. I got MTF blood on it now. Gross."

Lochlan looksdown at the bloodon herself as she walks back in the house.

Hinata and Luna return inside. Luna snaps their sword cleaning kit and they get right to work.

There are several starbucks and walmart gift cards on the table with a note that says "Oops - From CGI Kilo squad"

Lochlan walks in the house and put her jacket away to be cleaned as she sits down in the corner. She doesn't look uoset but definately thinking about something

Hinata had wiped her blade off when she notices the coffee table, "what do you mean oops?? But hey I'll take some free coffee and groceries." Hinata grins.

Luna is busy with her hyperfixations but then when Hinata speaks up, she loses focus and looks over at Lochlan. "Something up? Need first aid?" 

She shakes her head without looking up, "No I'm fine. Just the first time I've actively tried to kill someone I guess? Usually I just help someone else, not do anything like stabbing their neck."

Luna nods with a soft smile, "I understand that Lochlan, you did a good job. If you ever wanted to hone your skills, I'm sure we could show you a few things here or there. Besides, I wanted to thank you for saving us."

"No need for thanks. Any person in their right mind would have stopped him."

Luna turns her head away, "y-yeah. They... definitely would."

Hinata puts a hand on Luna's shoulder in support.

Lochlan idly begins picking off any bit of blood off the knife sge used

Luna goes quiet. The fact that Cole hasn't spoken is worrying her.

Hinata puts her weapon away and leans into Luna. Luna's weapon is all cleaned off as well.
